62 applications were submitted for the contest organized by Telekritika about public service broadcasting

Republication Print version

For the contest of journalistic materials about public service broadcasting that was set up by public organization Telekritika 62 materials were sent.

Around 20 entries were from professional journalists, the rest from students faculty of journalism and public journalists. Applications were sent from all over Ukraine. The most of materials were from Kyiv, Lviv and Donetsk, while Crimea, Kherson and Mykolaiv ignored this contest.

One of essential requirements for participation in the competition for professional journalists was a preliminary publication of material in regional or national media. For this reason materials about public service broadcasting appeared in such prints as ‘City courier’ (Chernihiv), ‘Free life plus’ (Ternopil), online editions ‘Korrespondets.Blogs’, ‘European observatory of journalism’, ‘Hlavnoe’, ‘Galnet’, ‘Zhinka-online’.

Submitted materials can be found here.

Short list of finalists will be announced after April 15.

We would like to remind that competition about public service broadcasting was organized by public organization Telekritika in January 2014.

In April Telekritika runed 3 more contests for journalists: about media wars, local media sources, work of journalists during the time of socio-political conflicts and hostilities. Deadline for submission of applications for all 3 competitions is in May.
